Visa requirements in the Republic of Belarus

Any enters to the Republic of Belarus are permitted for foreigners only according to a valid passports or another substitute ?documents marked by Belarusian Visa Stamp. Visa for enter to Belarus can be ?obtained ?only at the Belarusian Consulate Office in applicants' country. Only in some specific cases visas are issued right upon arrival to Belarus (except working, student and immigration visas). Continuing, issuing and changing a type of visa are available only at the Passport-Visa Service Divisions of Ministry of International Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with law requirements. 

There are nine types of Visas approved in Belarus:

  • diplomatic official

  • guest

  • business

  • tourist

  • transit

  • working

  • student

  • immigration

The student visa (for those who wishes to study at the Republic of Belarus) was created to permit foreign visitors to come and stay in Republic for a temporary period of time as "studying visitors." During their time here, in Belarus, they can study, participate in research and gain experience in their field of interest. To be admitted as a Studying Visitor applicants are to present the following documents:
1) the original of invitation letter from any belarusian educational establishments with following information concerning to applicant (first and last name, dates of birth, national passport number, citizenship, terms of visit, exchange program and educational establishment names).
2) An external passport valid for 6 months beyond the anticipated period of admission, unless exempt from passport requirements.
Should the education is not an ultimate purpose of visit no claims for student visa are excepted.
